Always an easy and enjoyable read, Nine Princes is a short, lively story of nine surviving brothers and four sisters who continually ally and fight amongst each other for the throne in the one true city, Amber.This book is always fun to read and sends me into nostalgia for when I first read them, and I can't help but go through the whole series after starting one. It's full of lively writing, interesting storylines and excellent characters. I always enjoy Zelazny's work because it rarely falls flat and always captures my interest.It is a little light on action and story as compared to those further down the line in the series, but I think Nine Princes sets a pitch-perfect tone and ambition for the rest of the books to match and exceed.
